Quality Pre-owned Apparatus
At Twin Tier Fire and Safety Services, we understand that every fire department has unique operational needs and budgetary constraints. Not every department is in a position to purchase a brand-new custom rig, yet the demand for reliable, mission-ready apparatus never decreases. That is why we are committed to providing a superior selection of used fire trucks and emergency vehicles.
We bridge the gap between affordability and reliability. By offering clean, serviceable trucks, we help your department upgrade to a "new-to-you" vehicle at a fraction of the cost of buying brand new. Whether you are a rural volunteer company looking to replace an aging tanker or a busy municipal station needing a reliable reserve engine, our Used Apparatus division is here to serve you.

Why Buy Through Twin Tier?
Buying used apparatus can often feel like a gamble. Private sales or auctions rarely provide the peace of mind that comes with a certified dealer. When you purchase through Twin Tier Fire and Safety Services, you aren’t just buying a truck; you are buying the support, expertise, and reputation of a full-service fire equipment provider.
Thorough Inspection & Maintenance
We take the "mystery" out of used truck buying. Every vehicle that comes through our hands undergoes a rigorous assessment. Our full-service shop addresses issues prior to the sale, ensuring you aren't inheriting someone else's deferred maintenance. We perform complete preventative maintenance services on every unit, checking critical systems including chassis components, electrical systems, and fluid levels. When you drive it off the lot, it’s ready to work.
Certified Pump Testing
For pumpers and tankers, the heart of the truck is the water pump. You need to know it will perform when lives are on the line. We provide certified pump testing before the final sale, ensuring the apparatus meets NFPA standards. We provide the current certification documentation so you can put the truck in service immediately with confidence.
Service Records Included
Transparency is key to a good investment. We believe buyers deserve to know the history of their equipment. We provide all available service records from our shop, along with any historical documentation provided by the previous owner. This paper trail helps your fleet manager understand the vehicle's care history and plan for future maintenance.
Customization & Upgrades
One of the biggest advantages of buying from a full-service dealer is our ability to tailor a truck to your needs. If you find a used engine that is perfect mechanically but lacks the scene lighting or shelf configuration you prefer, we can fix that.
- Lighting packages: Upgrade to high-intensity LED scene lights or warning bars.
- Storage solutions: We can upgrade or adjust shelving, tool boards, and compartments. (We do not have fabrication abilities at this point.)
- Graphics and lettering: Our business associates or business partners (We may strip the old graphics but we do not make vinyls or do gold leaf) can strip old department lettering and apply your new gold leaf and department crests before delivery.

Selling Your Apparatus?
How Our Consignment Program Works
Selling a fire truck on your own is a time-consuming administrative burden. Between fielding calls from "tire kickers," scheduling viewings, and navigating title transfers, it can distract from your department’s primary mission.
Our consignment program is designed to be hassle-free and effective. We leverage our reputation and reach to get you the highest fair market value for your asset.
- Exclusive Consignment Contract: Trucks are listed under an exclusive contract for a set number of days. This timeline is discussed and agreed upon before signing, giving us a dedicated window to aggressively market your vehicle.
- Strategic Marketing: We don't just put a "For Sale" sign in the window. We market your truck through the Twin Tier Fire and Safety Services website, our active Facebook page, targeted paid advertisements, and industry connections across New York, Pennsylvania, and beyond. We put your apparatus in front of serious buyers who are actively looking.
- Seamless Transaction: Once a buyer is secured, the process is simple. You sign the title over to us, and we handle the sale at the agreed price. We manage the paperwork, the funds, and the handover.
- Fast Payment: After the buyer pays, we remit the purchase price to you, minus our pre-agreed fee. It is a clean, transparent transaction that puts money back into your department’s budget quickly.
Our Fee Structure
We believe in fair, transparent pricing with no hidden costs. Our commission structure is tiered based on the final sale price of the vehicle:
- $0 – $100,000: 10% Commission
- $100,001 – $150,000: 8% Commission
- $150,001 – $250,000: 7% Commission
- $250,000+: 5% Commission
This structure ensures that our goals are aligned with yours: we work hard to get you the best price possible.
